Elie Wiesel 1

So today I went to this little short interview thing in Toronto just as a spectator. I went because the interviewee was Elie Wiesel, an amazing author as well as several other things who won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. His most famous book would probably be... Night, his story of what happened to him during WWII. It's just an amazing book with true emotions in it. Anyway, the interview was short and sweet. Every question he answered brilliantly. He talked about the importance of education, the problems with fanaticism, and so on so forth. At the end he was asked if he'd forgive people for what they did to him and he said, if they asked for forgiveness, he would. He however also said, and I think this is a very good point, that he doesn't believe in collective guilt and that the children of the doers aren't the ones to blame, they're just children. He was just so... awe inspiring!

So yes... it was great.
